When business is just transactional, that is when it is nothing more than making money. When it becomes transformational, that is when the business becomes something more than just making money. For example, if my company's goal was to make money, I would keep all of my employees until they were no longer productive. If my company's goal was to make everything better for our customers, I would spend thousands on research and development to improve our product or service.

As a result, my company would be transformational. It would become the best in its field in both its financial performance and in how it affects our customers.
